Local Family Donates Christmas Lights to Baton Rouge General Medical Center

For the past four years, GAGE has been proud to power the magic of Holiday Lights at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, a beloved community tradition now in its 8th season. At the heart of this partnership is Jason Landry, Vice President of GAGE, who along with his wife Karen, donated their cherished Christmas light display to the hospital in 2022.

The Landrys’ spectacular display had been a community highlight in their Prairieville home for nearly 30 years, and finding the right home for their labor of love was essential. “We couldn’t have picked a better home for them,” said Karen Wood Landry. “They share the same Christmas passion and can continue to bring so much joy, especially to those in the hospital.”

Footage of the display from previous years can beĀ seen here.

Since the donation, Jason has remained deeply involved, volunteering each year to help BRG team members set up the lights at the main site and other BRG locations throughout the Capital Area. The Landry collection joined more than 400,000 twinkling lights, candy canes, snowmen, gingerbread kids, and a 24-foot walk-through holiday lights tunnel, bringing new wonder to the thousands who visit each season.

“When Jason first approached us, we were blown away by both the size of his light collection and his generosity in wanting to give them a new home,” said Erik Showalter, president of the Baton Rouge General Foundation. “His donation brings a new experience for the thousands in our community who visit Holiday Lights at Baton Rouge General each year, and we are thrilled that he has helped us continue to spread holiday cheer.”
